|U21 Mens News|
| 3 Apr 2017, 5:41pm||item # 2065|
We are pleased to announce that Chris Naylor will be coaching the 2017 U21 Men’s squad and assisted by Sean Bryant
Thanks goes to the experienced Paula Watson who has offered to Manage the U21 Men’s team to tournament.
NZWP have realised that the All Blacks v Lion Test at Eden Park on 8 July will have an impact on U21 travelling teams and have elected to condense the U21 Championship to three days which is now starting early on 9 July and finishing late on 11 July. This will mean that teams may be involved with multiple games per day.
We are going to have get our planning completed earlier than normal by securing accommodation and flights.
We will therefore be having trials for the U21 Men’s team in the next month. U21 Trials will be open to any registered Hutt Club member.
Training will continue through the holidays as Naenae pool closes for annual maintenance on 30 April. There is no training on Easter Monday. While Naenae is closed, we do have a skeleton training schedule at Huia .. details to come out soon.

|Craig .. the heart of Hutt|
| 29 Mar 2017, 9:26pm||item # 2062|
As many of you are aware, our very own Craig McGuinness was recently awarded Life Membership of New Zealand Water Polo at the Awards Night on Saturday.
Craig has been an influential and valued member of Hutt Club for a number of years.
As a player, Craig was selected to the Wellington u 15 Rep team, the Wellington Schoolboys Team and the Hutt Men's Team in 1980. In the following years Craig would continue to represent Hutt and Wellington and would feature in New Zealand age group, Schoolboys and Senior Teams including at World Games and Commonwealth competitions.
Craig has coached a number of Hutt teams (from U12's/14's through to Senior Men's and Women's), Wellington Rep Teams and New Zealand teams throughout the years, and at times has combined this with his playing commitments in a Player/Coach role.
Craig has also been involved coaching St Bernards College since 2002.
Craig has also contributed to Water Polo as a referee and in 1998 became an internationally graded referee.
In 1998 Craig was awarded Life Membership of Hutt Water Polo Club.
Craig's Life Membership of New Zealand Water Polo is thoroughly deserved and is appropriate recognition for someone who has volunteered hours of their time to all facets of the sport.
Our players are very lucky to have someone with Craig's experience and enthusiasm involved with the Club.
