Naenae Olympic Pool, Hutt City

Published: 16th Aug 2011
There were some great semi finals and end of round robin games played last Wednesday night.? Please congratulate your players, coaches and managers for the great spirit in which games have been battled out since May.? We have noticed an increased number of spectators poolside.? It?s fab that so many adults positively support kids playing sport!

Hutt Water Polo Club welcomes any of your students who wish to continue developing their aquatic and team skills, to come along and give Hutt Club a go!

Finals night is upon us and the draw for next Wednesday, 17 August is now published on www.huttwaterpolo.org.nz

Every team competing in Grade Finals for 1st or 2nd place is required to complete a team list and email back to naenaecomp@huttwaterpolo.org.nz ?prior to 11 am, Wednesday, 17 August.    Teams competing for 3rd to 10th in each Grade are not required to send in a team sheet.

* Please clearly print each players Christian and Surname

* Only players originally registered for your team can participate on Finals Night (unless a written dispensation has since been given)

* Please line your team up poolside by the allocated court number five minutes prior to game time in the order they appear on the team list for team presentation

* Please ask all players to trim their nails before arriving at the pool.? Finger and Toe Nail checks will be done by referees immediately after team presentations and before players get into the water for the game.?

* Please ensure that an adult scorer from each team is sitting at the scoring table before your game commences and remains at the table for the duration of the game.? It?s inappropriate that scorers at the table become actively involved in calling out to players in the game in progress.

* Please remind all players, coaches and managers to stay behind the 2 metre cone at all time during games

* All Finals Night games require a result. Should the game be tied at the final ?hooter?, the referee will NOT blow their whistle but keep the game going until a goal is scored. The game will finish then. It is important this is explained to coaches, players and parents so it is fully understood.

Primary Presentations to the winners and runners up will be made adjacent to the children?s play pen at the shallow end.? Please get your teams to assemble in that area as soon as possible after your game. We will? endeavour to take a team photo at that time which could be viewed on the Hutt water polo website. Please inform us if you don?t wish team photos to be taken.

Intermediate & Secondary School Water Polo presentations will be made poolside in front of the pool control table (deep end).? All members of the winning teams, together with runners up are asked to assemble in that area immediately after your game.

Trophies ? winning teams will receive trophies to proudly display at school for the next 12 months.? All winners are asked to get your name engraved on the trophy before it is returned to us in 2012.
